Swedish characters in a domain name

From October 2003 it is possible to order SE-domains containing å, ä, ö, ü and é.

Such a registration is carried out lika any other. You fill out the registration form, after which you receive an automated confirmation via email.

Initial restrictions with Swedish characters
.SE becomes one of the first top-level-domains (TLDs) to introduce their own characters. Initially the use will be limited due to browsers and email programs needing to update. Users without Swedish keyboards will also experience certain difficulties.

Having said that, one should view domain names with Swedish characters as a complement to a domain name with only international characters which one already owns. .SE plans to introduce more characters in the future.

Web browsers such as Mozilla Firefox and Safari already support the domain names. Internet Explorer has support from version 7 and can be downloaded from Microsoft's webbsite.
